What this tool calculates
A quotation sets out proposed items, quantities, prices and terms before a sale. This generator creates a two-item quotation with an optional discount and an entered tax rate. You can print the result or save it as a PDF through your browser. It is not a tax invoice or confirmation of payment.
How to use quotation generator
- Add your business, customer, quotation number and date details. Describe the items clearly and enter quantities and unit prices.
- Enter a discount amount and tax rate, using zero when neither applies. For an unused second line, enter zero quantity and zero price.
- Review the items, dates, contacts, notes and total before printing. Your browser provides the Save as PDF option.
How the calculation works
Line total = quantity × unit price. Subtotal = sum of line totals. Tax is calculated on the discounted subtotal using the rate you enter.
Worked example
Two units at ₹500 and one at ₹250 make a ₹1,250 subtotal before discount and tax.
Understanding the result
Tax is applied to the discounted subtotal. Do not use this simplified quotation to decide applicable tax classifications or statutory invoice requirements. Details are not stored or sent by this tool; keep your own saved copy if you need a record.
