What this tool calculates
Sales mix describes each selected item’s share of a total. Unit mix measures quantities sold; revenue mix measures money earned. An item can have a high unit share and a smaller revenue share if its price is lower than other items.
How to use restaurant menu sales mix
- Choose Units sold or Sales revenue.
- Enter figures for three selected items using the same period and scope.
- Calculate each share of the selected total. Label the result as a selected-item mix if other menu items are excluded.
How the calculation works
Item share = item units or item revenue ÷ total of that same measure × 100.
Worked example
If an item accounts for ₹3,000 of ₹10,000 selected sales revenue, its revenue share is 30%.
Understanding the result
Shares are based only on the three inputs and are rounded to two decimal places, so the displayed percentages can differ slightly from a combined 100%. Unit mix alone does not measure profitability. To assess contribution, combine sales quantities with item costs and prices.
