What this tool calculates
RevPASH means revenue per available seat hour. It divides revenue by seats available multiplied by operating hours for the same period. The denominator uses available capacity, rather than the number of occupied seats or guests served.
How to use revenue per available seat hour
- Choose the time interval and total revenue for that interval.
- Enter seats available throughout that interval and the number of operating hours.
- Calculate available seat-hours and revenue per seat-hour. If seats change during service, calculate each capacity interval separately or use a carefully derived equivalent.
How the calculation works
Seat-hours = available seats × operating hours. Revenue per seat hour = period revenue ÷ seat-hours.
Worked example
₹24,000 across 40 seats and 6 operating hours gives ₹100 per available seat hour.
Understanding the result
The tool assumes a constant seat count during the entered hours. It does not measure seat occupancy, profit per guest or table turnover. Comparing equal-length periods and a consistent revenue basis makes the results easier to interpret.
